Lake LBJ, named for President Lyndon B. Johnson, is part of the Highland Lakes Chain in Central Texas. It is a reservoir on the Colorado River formed in 1950.  Lake LBJ starts and Kingsland and goes all the way to Horseshoe Bay, about 45 minutes northwest of Austin. Horseshoe Bay on Lake LBJ

Lake LBJ is a controlled level lake just over 21 miles long located in Llano and Burnet Counties in Central Texas.  Part of the Highland Lakes chain, Lake LBJ has a maximum width of 10,800 feet. There are several communities along Lake LBJ including Kingsland, Highland Haven, Granite Shoals, Sunrise Beach, Deer Haven, Blue Lake and Horseshoe Bay. Cabin and Condo rentals are available as well as RV Parking, Motels and campgrounds.
